I wish something was missing.

Yestarday, I saw a new game down at my FLGS, and decided to take a closer look. The box read: "Ideology: The War of Ideas is an exciting new strategy game by Z-Man Games. During the game, each player symbolizes one of the 20th Century's most powerful Ideologies..." It went on to list the playable ideologies in question: Capitalism, Communism, Fascism, Imperialism, and Islamic Fundamentalism. Is it just me, or does something seem missing from that list?

It possibly is just me; I would have thought that Democracy might be worthy of mention. However, the game probably has a more realistic idea of what matters in the world over the past century; nobody gives a rat's ass about democracy anymore. The only freedom anybody wants is the right to choose whether to wear Nike or Reebok. For all the lip service our leaders give Democracy, they know it's money that matters.

Of course, if I post this, I'm sure some Randroid will pop in to tell me how much more important Capitalism is than Democracy...
